Each PDF is built at exact size, so ask for 100% / "do not scale to fit" and it prints 1:1 in inches. 3) Cut the window. Every mat comes with a cut guide. A craft knife and a metal ruler give the crispest edge. Make one light pass first, then a second pass to separate the window. 4) Frame it. A mat is printed as a full sheet the size of your frame, then the window is cut out, so what you see on screen is exactly what goes in the frame. Every mat lists its frame size and window size in the file name, which makes it easy to match a frame you already own. If your printer shrinks pages by default, switch off "scale to fit" in the print dialog — that setting is the only thing that can throw the size off.
